Trinity Bath House
The Trinity Bath House is a site-driven proposal embedded within the Trinity River levee in Dallas, responding to shifting water levels, erosion, and soft marsh terrain. Rather than sitting atop the landscape, the building is carved into the levee, treating earth, hydrology, and section as primary architectural materials. The design evolved from curvilinear massing studies into a pill-shaped geometric language that organizes pools, circulation, and openings, informed by bathhouse precedents emphasizing light, section, and environmental continuity. Structured by a structural grid, a linear axis, and the pill-form system, the project choreographs public-to-private sequences and vertical bathing experiences, culminating in a spatially layered architecture shaped by site, section, and atmosphere.
